My therapist has a book on his bookshelf called "Shut Up, Quit Whining, and Get a Life". I told him perhaps he ought to display it in a less prominent position, as his clients might say, "Ok" and leave.

There are many different reasons to complain, or grumble, as gg said. I don't like to condemn an entire behavior.
