Everyone has to start somewhere. Don't try to be perfect, no one can do it all right off the bat. Just give it a try, do the best you can, and if it doesn't work out you'll have a little bit more knowledge for your next attempt.
And I don't think anyone really likes customer service, but its a good thing to learn. It teaches you patience, respect for other people in your position, and can build your confidence. I think everyone should work in retail or fastfood at least once in their lives.
I remember the first day of my first job. I told every customer it was my first day. I was so afraid they would get mad at me. Months later, I had a couple of different people tell me they remembered my first day and how nervous I was, but now I was a pro. Most people are more understanding than you would think. And the ones who aren't would be jerks no matter what.
I hope you get a job soon! Don't give up.
