I do the explaining, too, so I think I can empathize with where that comes from.
That's why I wanted you to know that I think you're a very good Reformer, and you can drive from my back seat anytime. (I look forward to reading your posts, because you often show me a perspective that I wish I'd seen myself, and you do it with such articulateness. [is that a word?])
As for the whole one-liner thing, for me it's context and content dependent. As far as content goes, it's nice sometimes to have someone say something like, "I don't have a suggestion, but I do care." It's also frustrating, often, when I ask a specific question and get a lot of replies without any information that could lead to an answer. And that's where context comes in: on the meds board, most of my posts are about specific topics, and I am looking for an answer if I start a post. On the other boards, though, especially Social, I expect the responses to be more "social." (Then again, if I start a thread on Social, I'm usually just being silly, so I look forward to responsive silliness...)
