Hey rj,
I read all the other responses, then came back to your original post to make sure i remembered what you were talking about.I think you have a personality. I recognize it when I read your posts.
I think a characteristic is the part of me in a social situation that makes me stand back at first and get the feeling for what's happening. A talent is when I can make people feel welcome, and make witty conversation. A defense mechanism is when I feel insulted or attacked and jump right to hostility instead of keeping my head or figuring out what's really going on.
As you know, we have to develop our talents, which is a good reminder to me because I have many. And so do you.
