no, but I have never done that before. Once my pdoc was concerned that I was thinking about it, but he was very serious and concerned about it, too concerned. I think suicide is taken very seriously, maybe Im wrong. It is possible that some pdocs hear about it a lot, if a patinet talks about it freely and doesn't act on it I would think it changes the power of the word...

Probably because to other people those threats are not heard on a regular basis, if I heard someone I knew talking about suicide I would likely calmly intervene, but I wouldn't joke about it or take it lightly. How do we know who is going to kill themselves? we don't and we have to base it on what we are told, right?
Maybe for some people talking about death is therapeutic? Maybe it is a way of saying, Im unhappy and I need help but I don't want to die? I don't know, but I hope pdocs take suicide seriously.
