I don't think I'd think of it in those terms.
I think everyone has personal challenges to being the sort of person they'd like to think they are. And some people work harder than others at overcoming them. :) But that everyone falls short now and again.
I guess I like to think of the possibilities, and of falling short of the possibilities. Rather than thinking of the baseness of humanity and trying to rise above it.
If that makes any sense.
So I think you are a wonderful unique person who tries to be as loving and giving, as exciting and dynamic, as you can possibly be. But that sometimes you fall a bit short, and need to apologize, make repairs, and accept responsibility for that. Then go on to be wonderful and dynamic again. And the same for your husband, although you can substitute the qualities he's striving for, or you're striving for, in order for it to fit you.
(And you'd best be careful. I'm not sure if Dr. Bob might consider an @ to be a bypassing of the asterisking system rather than the equivilant of an asterisk. Perhaps a clarification of intent and a change in subject line might be prudent?)
