Yes, but I mean IN THE FIRST PLACE. Why the heck didn't your ancestors go find someplace warm? I mean you would think that people would try to find somewhere where the environment was pleasantly habitable. I suppose snow isn't that bad. But I get cold enough in winter here. Don't know how my leg injuries will go in the real cold.
Canada is cold. I am just realising how freezing certain parts of the world are. And I wonder why? Why would people choose to live there? I mean I understand about familiarity and lack of options etc. But the original settlers must have come from somewhere... Oh, don't mind me, I'm just raving. In Wellington it is pretty windy and it is also on a fault line (lots of earthquakes). In Rotorua bits of the ground violently spew up hot mud. You could literally be boiled alive if you fell into a thermal pit. Warm, though. No snow :-) And here. Well here there is NOTHING TO DO WHATSOEVER. Boring I say, boring as hell
