That's another one of those that makes me shudder. Come on Bush! Don't make us look like hillbillies or something!
Another one that bothers me is 'yellow'. My whole family pronounces it 'yella'. It always irritated me though, so I say it correctly. Pretty much anyone in a professional environment will use the correct pronounciations. It really just depends on how self aware you are. I took a voice and diction class in college and it really opened my eyes.
But in the south's defense, there are words that are mispronounced up north too, its just more acceptable for some reason.
