Well well well. Cushy land for the geeks. How nice can this be?
This sounds so much fun. I don't know how many people know this little interaction between engineers and mental illness, but I think that engineering is the absolute best career for bipolar sorts. Where else do you get to stay up for 3 days in a row, at work, on purpose? Of course it isn't much hellp for the family, but it sure feels good to get all that stuff done.
Engineers have bragging rights that are only rivaled by physicians. Doc can say "I saved someone's life on the table today. Engineers can say "I designed a circuit that will save millions of lives some day".
On the other hand, I write poetry. The very first poem I submitted in a contest was published. Today, I was thinking.... How much of our lives are filled with poetry? Everyone can remember at least one poem, one bit of verse that touches them. One of my alters reminded me that if I want a new career, all I have to do is write.
Poetry may not be a geek job, but I sort of think it's every bit as important as engineering. All the technology in the world can't make the quality of life better if there is no content behind it.
Dee.
