Well I had a date with a guy Friday, and today I sent him a little email saying thanks, I had fun, etc. Later in the day I wrote an email to a close friend, which included a paragraph reporting on how the date went and saying what I *really* thought of the date. Somehow I managed to accidentally send that email not to my close friend but to the date guy. I just could not believe it. I looked in horror at my outbox. I tried to unsend but it was not possible since we're on different ISPs.
So then I called the date guy's cell #, and got an anonymous voicemail, I'm not even sure it's his, since he gave me the number a long time ago and I've never called him before. I hung up, then after a few minutes called back and left a somewhat rambling message explaining I had sent him an email by accident that was intended for a close friend and would he please do me a favor and not read it since it was kind of personal. Of course I know he'll read it. Who wouldn't?
I called my close friend to tell him this comical tale.. he just kept saying I can't believe you did that. I can't believe you did that. I read him the email and he pointed out that as mis-sent emails go, it could have been a lot worse.
I think I need to go lie down in a dark room.
