Ok, major venting----

This probably belongs on adm., but I tend to avoid that area. I really just want an "ear" to hear me. Has anyone posted, their own or to another, and felt like someone was using the plights and complaints get what feels like "advertising" for something? For anyone tempted to let me know this is a public forum - I know, I know, but that kind of activity still makes me feel a bit violated.
I welcome personal stories and "what worked for me" stuff and appreciate that. I received that on a post of my own. But an answer to my post to another's on the same subject, well, felt "funny".
I don't know what I want to accomplish with this post but to vent and know how others feel about this activity.
