In reply to hard to find a good psychiatrist...., posted by sarita0001 on September 22, 2003, at 18:34:51
Hi, sorry to hear that your psychiatrist retired. That's hard especially when you seenmed to like him! I can't relate here, BUT I used to be able to, no doubt!!
Did you call your pharmacy about your question?
I do believe, in my opinion, that the correlation you made with your dad and this psychiatrist makes perfectly good sense.
I have a psychiatrist now and I respect him~funny I respected my dad (don't know why)
My psychiatrist is great, but I finally manged to get over the transference thing a long time ago and once I did I was soooo much better off!
My psychiatrist is a good man and a wonderful doctor:-)
I wish you the same in finding that type!
Hang in there and good luck:-)> hello,

> Out of all the psychiatrists I have had(about 5-I've moved alot) I only liked the one I had for 5 years. I called him tonight to see if he could refer me to someone since I am new in the area and he didn't know anyone. I asked him if he could answer a medication question and he said he couldn't because he retired and didn't have a license anymore. I was pretty bummed out. I think I was so attached to him because during that time I felt he was the only one who looked out for me. I guess he was like my dad since my dad was so uninvolved in my treatment. Can anyone relate??
> If not, it's still goo to "talk" about.
