That seems awfully high for a therapist. Perhaps it depends on where you live. There is a site that gives you average prices in the US based on zip code.

Remember, there are different providers of therapy. MD, Psychologist, LMSW, PRN, LPC. Probably a lot more.
I think outcome studies have shown that the best outcomes don't come from either experience or training, but from less easily measured variables. Finding a therapist who is a proper "fit" is probably most important.
There is a certain advantage to having an experienced therapist, but I've heard that interns have the compensatory advantage of eagerness (and of course supervision). The downside is that they are generally only there for a limited period of time.
