Alii, please don't do that to yourself. You ARE smart. That is why you are getting the help you need now that you do know what he is capable of. It is too much to expect yourself to have predicted and dodged his fist. Don't take the responsibility for that. You cannot possibly have been responsible for something he did to you. What you can do, and it certainly sounds like you are doing, is to take responsibility for your choices that are in front of you now. But leave the responsibility for the assault where it belongs--with the assailant.
