Kind of an "Awakenings" type experience, eh? I've wondered about that with all of the treatments also with mood disorders. It seems sometimes the treatment is like a cake-walk, and others it's just horrible and cruel, and very cyclic in nature. A friend of mine suggested it feels like being "cursed"...even if, really, 1 in 3 suffer from some form of mood disorder. I have a very small circle of friends and 'associates' from work, and am just amazed at the number on psychiatric medication. People who are wealthy...poor...many people you'd NEVER expect.Heck, even last week at work, somebody had left their bottle of Celexa on the lunch-counter at my job. I put out a 'page' over the P.A. system, just with the person's name, and this beautiful, charming young girl responded, and just once again, breaks further sterotypes.
One thing I don't feel so much anymore, and that time and this board, as well as some good literature, has shown me that we are *far* from alone in our suffering. It's like our mind plays a silly trick on us, but then again, I've come to realize many nasty, miserable people who I have strongly disliked in the past, may just be suffering from what I am.
Sorry..I went off on a tangent or three. Great topic, though.
