I understand & don't criticize you for your decision, but none of my cats have fleas - not one. I won't tolerate them scratching at anything but their scratching posts & scratching bag (an old heavy twine macrame bag that my boy cat loves). No stinky cat box - I clean it scrupulously twice a day at least (keep it cleaner than the rest of my house but then the rest of my house wouldn't stink if I don't clean it). But yes, the shedding. I don't know how they can lose so much hair & still have it covering them. I know I'd be bald at that rate!
