I was wondering if you've ever been on Zyprexa before and if you've found the Geo effects to be comparable to the Zy? Been thinking about talking to my psych about the Geo because of the weight gain on the Zy.

The weather in San Diego has been beautiful, but chilly. I like it, though,
when it is on the chilly side.Yes, I have been on Zyprexa. Geodon is almost nothing like Zyprexa in the way it works.
Zyprexa was very sedating and helped my sleep tremendously; it is also known for putting on weight. Geodon is not at all sedating and can actually interfere with my sleep; that is why I take my last dose at 5 PM. And of all the atypicals (Zyprexa, Seroquel, Respidal), Geodon is the least
likely to cause weight gain. Geodon also has some wonderful anti-depressant qualities to it.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
- Take care, Glenn
