> Once a mom always a mom! I found myself watching Barney reruns long after the children stopped.OH GOD! Barney! Don't remind me. My brain got permanently f___ed up on those videos. Wound up singing those songs all day cause I couldn't get them out of my head. My daughter somehow survived them and is a nomal child now, seemingly... who knows how that corney music has affected those synapses... Do kids still watch it? Or has the Purple Dinosaur Union, Local 504, found that the working conditions were intolerable? That suit!
> There's one about a mouse stopping one of Japan's trains. Just hope it wasn't our resident mouse!?Well, it would be just like you...
But I don't think I caught that one... (?) I suspect you're making this up... sounds too surreal...
> In the archives there was an article about teenage girls having shizo type personalities on the internet. Interesting how the media still perceives schizophrenia with multiple personalities.Yeah, I read some doozies! You're right, mental illness is still perceived as people in straightjackets, etc. The sensationalism, only stuff like The Three Faces of Eve, or Sybil (I read both as a teenager) make it into most people's consciousness. Though there are some good memoirs out written by depressed people. I have:
Prozac Nation (of course)
The Beast
Sorrow's Web
The Liar's Club (a memoir about a Texan girl whose mother was, in my opinion, bipolar, written by Mary Karr, it's excellent)
both Kay Redfield Janeson's books> Whistling Willow
Anyway, nice to hear from you... I was on chat Friday night, hoped to see you there, but maybe sometime soon?
love,
Wendy
