> Hey everyone! I actually have something positive to share. I just got diagnosed with hypothyroidism. While this may not seem like good news on the surface, I'm thrilled. I have suspected for a few years that I was hypothyroid but doctors blew me off because the only test they knew to order came back within normal limits. Finally, my thyroid has gotten to the point where the basic test is highly abnormal and there's no doubt left. This diagnosis explains so many symptoms I've been having. A year and a half ago, I was kicked out of the Air Force for being overweight. I told them that I was on a very restrictive diet and exercised frequently but still couldn't lose weight, they called me a liar. I had been in for 15 years and loved my job. I was only 5 years away from retirement and they fired me with no benefits. My family and I went through hell. We were ruined financially. Now I can prove that my weight problem was NOT my fault. I don't know what to do at this point but they owe me and I intend to collect. Thyroid disorders are a major cause of depression and very common. I urge all of you to get checked.
