I can really understand loving the Zyprexa, I've been told that I should be the national poster boy for it. It seems like I searched so long for an answer before I finally found one with the Zy. I should probably add that talk therapy and running my own group on Yahoo has made a difference too.
Being on the Zy, I can say that my BP doesn't have any major adverse effects on my life, but before that was a different story. I had trouble sleeping, constantly had rapid fire thoughts going thru my mind that I couldn't separate, manic behavior (spending sprees), extreme moments of uncontrollable rage, etc. The rapid cycling was so bad for me that it wasn't unusual for me to cycle every 20-30 minutes. I can relate to the increased appetite your Dad is having, one of the drawbacks is that I continue to put on weight. But I'd rather have a weight problem anytime over all the other crap I was dealing with though. There's always a trade off it seems...
Great news about the job! It helps to feel like you are contributing and accomplishing things. Do you have plans to go to full time after a while? Just remember that all good things start with a single step.
Please say hi to your Dad for me and tell him that I wish him continued success. Stay in touch and let me know how you both are doing OK?
All my best,

> Thanks Greg! He loves the Zyprexa (sp?) which is different for him. I've always supported him if he had wanted to lower a dose of previous antipsycotics, but he had never been compliant with any that were taken orally. It is also benefitting him in that it doesn't bother him to eat, before half way through a sandwich he would feel blah, but now he can eat it now. (He's very underweight.)
