If I remain steadfastly 'OTHER-CENTERED', I develop a 'TUNNEL-VISION' toward my own willingness and acceptance, disallowing me to observe my own successes... When I see myself watching myself, the 'TUNNEL-VISION' is extinguished... I can then do what my mind does best, compare two things: where I am versus where I can be at my best and my wisest state of being... I then plot the strategy to get to this place of accepatance and willingness, and 'happy, joyous and free' are not far behind...
When I gripe, grumble, gossip and complain, I remain other-centered and in 'TUNNEL-VISION', where 'happy, joyous and free' are not possible... It's a simple choice from this perspective... When I make the choice, you'll see it first in my facial expression, there for all to see, my acceptance and willingness...
