No, not everyone bleeds. And an absence of blood doesn't necessarily signify abuse in childhood. Women are all constructed differently and the hymen (a membrane covering the vagina) can tear, causing bleeding in some women. But in other women the hymen doesn't tear. It can stretch, though. And some women don't have a hymen; it's completely normal to have no hymen. Sometimes the hymen tears or stretches during childhood (when we do things like riding a bike) and there can be bleeding at the time, but not necessarily.
My two cents about virginity: it's a state of mind, not a bodily reality. I think sex is about much more than a penis in a vagina, so I tend to think that virginity is what we make of it.
