What you're going through is really common. For it NOT to happen is unusual. Do a search on this site for "transference", and - if you're not in Canada - ask your therapist to talk to you about transference and what happens, what it means, how he handles it, how patients should handle it.
You're not alone. Lots and lots of posters here have experienced this. It's completely normal. It's a reaction to the therapy, not a regular social reaction that can lead to a social relationship. Your therapist can't become your boyfriend. It will really hurt, you'll probably feel really rejected by him maintaining professional boundaries, but for your sake he CAN NOT, MUST NOT deal with what you're going through on a social level. It's a therapy issue.
