Setbacks can be difficult to handle if you don't see that you are making forward progress. I guess it's important to look at and remember what progress you are making, and to keep that in the forefront of your mind when you find times where it seems like things are going downhill.
I've had a few times, when I was hospitalized again, or when I was feeling suicidal, that I thought I was going nowhere. Sometimes it took me quite a while to realize that even in the hospital, I was getting better. I admit that I still have a very long way to go. I'll probably be in therapy for many years, but I'm still getting better. Even in the plateaus, where it doesn't look like I'm getting better, I am. And you are too. It's hard, It's work, it's scary sometimes, but you can do it.
