Visual Illusions

Posted by Camille Dumont on October 7, 2003, at 10:41:56

Most of the time ... and even moreso if I'm tired, I start to see things that aren't there or see things the wrong way.

I shadow will become a cat or someone close to me, the writing on a sign will say something else ... for example there was this sign about recycling to make the earth better for your kids or whatever. When I saw it, I read "recycle your kids". Needless to say it made me look twice.

Most of the time I know they are not true and they are only visual. My eyes have been checked and its not something neurological either.

If feels as if my brain just doesn't take the time to really analyse what I see ... like its botching the job.

My pdoc suspected a psychotic component to my depression and prescribed seroquel. It took care of the illusions but it turned me into a zombie so I stopped it and the illusions are back.

I just wanted to know if I'm not the only one with those type of symptoms.
