Hi Laney,

The problem with using a mood stabalizer to taper off of Paxil is then once your taper is over, you have to deal with getting off the 2nd drug you added.

The best way to taper off of Paxil is to to taper very slowly (10% of current dose every 3 to 6 weeks). Some people might have to go even more slowly.

Paxil comes in the liquid form which will make it easier to taper this way.
