I think theory generally says a dopaminergic approach is called for to counter the ssri apathy. I found two drugs were pretty good at that. Added to prozac. One was the antipsychotic amisulpride. But it came with severe sexual impossibility, so I had to stop it. The other was adrafinil which worked pretty darn good beginning about the 3rd week. Its close cousin is modafinil, but I did not like modafinil. Low dose zyprexa was also fairly good, probably due to its blockade of serotonin receptors and increasing dopamine at low doses. I also tried ritalin and it was ok, but felt very artificial and was very short-lived. Reports from other people include things like mirapex, adderall, wellbutrin.
