And changing the subject when necessary? And remembering that anyone else's bad behavior, should there be any, is theirs and not yours. Be a distanced observer of stuff, almost like a scientist observing for research versus an involved in the mess part of the group?

Although I think Ann Landers or was it Dear Abby who often recommended saying something like, "Goodness that's a personal statement (or question or whatever)," when people cross boundaries. Hmm, maybe have a sign or a penalty flag?

Ick, I sound rather pessimistic. I hope it's a lovely and calm event. I can see how it could be quite anxiety provoking, though.

Last piece of advice: just breathe. :)
