more importantly than the money though, do you have a need to reconciliate with this man? if so, why not give it a shot while he's still alive. if there's no need to then why punish yourself after his death by losing out on money that you deserve? i guess it's your call (especially since no one here knows the details of how he's treated you in the past), but if it were me, i'd go. think aobut your future and the future of your family. (sorry if this isn't helpful but i'd go... don't think of it as selling out, think of it as investing in your future.
