Just finished "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey. I know, I know - and I bet it's been talked about a million times already, but I still wanted to see what the fuss was about :-)
I found the narrative style frustrating, the repetition annoying sometimes -- though I assume that was done on purpose. If it's truth or not, I still give it thumbs up for the un-glamourous portrayal.Finished "Beasts by Joyce Carol Oates" . [sorry had to include her name in the quotes to get it to show up as an option] Short. Intense. Obsessive/manipulative relationship. Thumbs up for a short page turner.
Now I've just started "Toward the End of Time" by John Updike. I enjoyed the "Rabbit" series, and "In the Beauty of the Lillies" so I thought I'd give this a shot.
And I read the celebrity magazines. Can't help it. Guilty pleasure.
