In reply to Vitamin B Complex Can Create Mania?, posted by dsae3 on February 21, 2014, at 6:48:41
I've never heard of B vitamins causing mania per se, but it's possible that taking it too close to bedtime may interfere with your sleep. If the B complex is helping you with energy, you might try taking it earlier in the day. I don't know if that will help, but it might. Do you take your antipsychotic at bedtime? I take part of mine in the morning and a higher dosage at bedtime. If you're sleeping 8 hours a night, that is really good. Another thing I learned is to go to bed the same hour each night. That way, your mind will always be ready for sleep at that particular time each night. I make it a rule to get ready for bed by 8PM every night. I get in bed, turn on my sound machine, turn out the lights, and make sure the temperature in the room is comfortable. All those things are helpful, and if I really can't sleep well, I'll have a light snack. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.
