I've used holosync cds. I've also tried Neuro Programmer which is a computer based program and also Sharm 1.4 which is another computer program. Bwgen is a free one you can try.
My opinion is that I haven't noticed much positive effect from using them. There's possibly a lot of pseudo science related to marketing blurb with these products. It's best to seek out some independent studies if you can find them.
There's no doubt that the brain has different brainwave patterns, alpha, beta, delta, gamma and theta etc. Whether they can be specifically influenced by audio is another matter altogether. Certain supplements e.g. L-Theanine can influence brain waves (alpha in this case).
It can't hurt to try, just don't go spending a lot of money, that's my advice :)
