I am not well schooled on the whole calcium/magnesium thing but I have read lots an lots of stuff about the topic at many websites and forums. Basically I could sum it up like this:
Most people get plenty of calcium in a good diet.
Most people do not get enough magnesium in a good diet.
Magnesium and calcium work as a symphony, but they have to be in just the right ratio, and that ratio varies a lot from person to person. One person may need a 2:1 ratio of cal/mag, another a 1:1 ratio, and another just plain magnesium skip the calcium.
You may want to take a good look at magnesium glycinate or magnesium taurate.
Soy milks are a good source of calcium. Try several brands to find one you like.
Things to put on your google study list:
Magnesium
Taurine
Lithium Orotate
