Alternative methods for OCD

Posted by johnnyj on May 6, 2007, at 19:13:16

Hi everyone:

I hope I can do this question justice as I am having a not so good time right now.

I have ocd/anxiety issues and am back on remeron at 15-mg. I seem to have some anxiety issues that are worse right now on the med. My biggest problem has been the lack of sleep 4 to 6 hours I get without meds. Basically as cycle to 6 hours as I am so tired from the night before. Physically, I yawn and don't have much of problem getting to sleep but my forehead just seems so active. Ssri's cause agitation so they are out.

My problem is the inability to stay asleep past 4 am. I may have to ditch the med so I am looking for vitamins, etc., that may help. Inositol caused me physical anxiety so it is out. My multi-vitamin has so much other stuff in it that it was causing a increased heart rate so I am starting over with vitamins.

I am also curious about glutamine and heard that that may play a role in ocd so how would I lower that or counteract that? Thank you all so much as I am running out of options.

I am also re-starting cbt.
