In reply to DHEA-My Experience-Any others?, posted by Tom Twilight on March 20, 2007, at 8:12:10
I experienced daily panic attacks for about 8 months which I thought were due to a trial of Topamax which induced metabolic acidosis. My new PDoc ordered a DHEA level and it came back high (hmmmm...). I don't know whether this elevated level was causative or a result of the stress/panic. A CAT scan to rule out an adrenal tumor was negative.
I'd talk to an Internist who could clarify things for you. Increased DHEA levels can be associated with lots of problems, cardiac and otherwise, the claims of "rejuvenation" notwhithstanding. I'm definitely going to pursue why my DHEA is up.
Good luck!
