TJ,
Here are come possibilities based on the irregularity. I've considered MVPS but don't have the palps.
Someone with Fibro
"I would feel great one day, and the next day, I would wake up feeling so sick that I couldn't even attend my children's functions!"
http://www.westga.edu/~wmaples/brockley.htmlCFS site:
"One minute you may feel great the next your in bed for a week unable to move. You get better after a few months and feel that you are getting back into the swing of things. Then next you are in bed for another week. You feel great one day and do too much. You spend the next 4 months suffering because of this. "

"I don't think there is a person on the board who doesn't feel great one day and the next day, has that feeling of dread and all the full-blown symptoms of MVPS."
http://www.mvpsupport.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002896.htmlDiscussion on tempromandibular joint (TMJ) problems
"Reference your question at the very beginning - that is the one thing about tmj that is so absolutely strange - how we can feel great one day, or in the morning or whenever, and then feel like crap the next day or later in the after or again, whenever. This is probably the most unique and irritating aspect of tmj there is. "
