Hi Declan- You lived to tell about it then! Perhaps the warning is a generic style warning-responsable, understandable. We have a chain of health food/guormet stores here in the US called Whole Foods. They by policy refuse to answer any questions about potentially psychoactive supplements if a customer mentions a word like "antidepressent", saying, "we can't take any responsability- you must consult a healthcare practitioner". Well, theanine is the ingredient frm green tea, and I've never heard any warnings about avoiding green tea while on antidepressents. I'll dig around later and try to figure out how much theanine a few cups of green tea has, just for comparison's sake. Maybe it's an amount thing- these capsules are 200mg, if I remember correctly. That might be a lot of cups of tea. OR, maybe they don't want people taking theanine on top of presription sleep meds, benzos, or sedating drugs. Perhaps they fear a drop in blood pressure with maois. But ssris??
