Here's the verdict on my enthobotanical experiments:
Kratom: had possibilities, seemed to help with depression and even weight loss. Had an opiate quality. The downside is a 3 day headache with nauseating vertigo. If you want to lose a weekend, and your lunch, this is the stuff.
Calea Zachechicihi: (Dream Herb) sedating but nothing to write home about.
Sugandi Root: bent the blades in my grinder so I used the whole root in tea. somewhat sedating but then half the plants in my backyard are sedating. Smells good; may try burning it as incense.
Mexican Tarragon: does nothing and has the rare effect of "not" being sedating.
Wild Lettuce: not sure what it does since I was busy being sedated.
I'm disassembling the waterpipe and putting away the teapress and grinder. When I get back on my feet, when the dizziness stops, I plan to throw out all the kratom and most of the other enthoherbs.
This has been a setback. I would have drank if I had a chance. Hope I learned something. 74 days sober.
