Claiming that bowel toxemia causes inadequate absorption of food and toxins to build up in the body, including the brain, resulting in mental health disorders, amongst other things. In autism, a lot of great results have been achieved by treating children's gut problems - undigested wheat and dairy form opiates that disrupt brain function - and 90% of serotonin is in the gut - serotonin is the main neurotransmitter that drives the gut - all the others are there too.

The enzymes purportedly aid the peptide/polypeptide conversion of tyrosine, tryptophan, phenylaline and methonine. It is claimed that if this doesn't happen, these aminos turn toxic.....Tyrosine into Phenol, Tryptophan into Indole, Tyramine from Tyrosine (a putrefactive product), with other bacterial putrefaction on undigested amino acids.
I'm not sure they would directly aid these enzymes, but it would certainly allow more nutrients available to synthesize them - think it's probably true that bacteria and yeast can degrade important amino acids. During infection/immune activation, the body degrades tryptophan by an enzyme called IDO - tryptophan starvation of pathogens seems to be an important tool to fight infection. Undigested food would also trigger reactions in the immune system, creating free radicals and immune complexes that further modify neurotransmitter metabloism and degradation.

Some of which make use of ion exchange etc. Such as, including hydrogen peroxide (which I understood to encourage Free-Radicals in the body, due to oxidative process?). I'm assuming all this "electrical" talk means in part, electrolytes, and also electrons in cells. But the use of "electric" in all of her descriptions was pretty vague. Not sure about this bit - would have to read some more. A lot of enzymes work by adding water to chains of molecules - starch, for example, becomes glucose when enzymes add water to each bond - not sure about the charges involved.

In autoimmune disease, the immune system attacks the stomach acid producing cells, so stomach acid supplements can be useful in initiating the whole digestive process for some people.Hope that's of use!
