For most people, I think that cortisol levels are highest around morning and lowest at night. This is maybe why some people are night owls and feel great at night. Then morning comes, cortisol levels are running high, and they feel anxious.
But, this doesn't really apply to ppl w/ mood disorders. They have very unpredictable and inconsistant cortisol fluctuations. So that might only apply to normal people... buuuuuuut "normal" people don't really have morning anxiety, so I don't really have an answer... only some thoughts.
