> How has the tryptophan worked for you? What do you use in conjunction with it to get optimal results?I don't take it daily. It's one of those intuitive "I could use some of that." feelings. I don't know how better to describe it. If I take it daily for a week, I just feel smoother, more functional, happier.
Routine B-vitamins and zinc.

Niacinamide. Also called nicotinamide. Do not confuse that with other forms of B-3, including niacin, nicotinic acid, or inositol hexanicotinate.
Doses of 500 mg of niacinamide, up to four times a day, have anxiolytic effect.
Magnesium loss in urine is increased under anxiety stress, but magnesium enhances other anxiolytic processes. You should target for around 500 mg a day (any form, except magnesium oxide, which is poorly absorbed). You may get diarrhea though, as magnesium pulls water into the gut if it is being poorly absorbed. If that occurs, cut the dose, or break it up into multiple doses per day. It can make you drowsy, though, so some people take it at night. 500 mg is not the upper limit, but it's a pretty good target. Ensure your vitamin D intake is supplemented, as that plays a role in magnesium balance.
Those are the starting points. More later, after you see what happens with these.
