Definitely only use prescription lithium under a doctor's supervision. But Lithium orotate does not have to be and no blood tests need to be run because it is such small doses of lithium.

My doctor gave me this and it seems to be helping with the depression and anxiety side of it. She says they have been having a lot of success with it with bipolar patients and it has little to no side effects. It might be something worth looking into first if it is just a deficiency you are worried about and not bipolar
