Long time lurker, so this might be a bit of a ramble. I just want to be sure to include my routine for those of whom it may benefit.

This might be an easier source of tryptophan for those with milder depression and anxiety. I have been doing the fish oil, 2tsps of Carlson's Fish Oil every day for the past month and half. I believe it is helping. The anxious feeling is way down and I do not feel quite as lethargic and depressed. But it isn't quite enough. I was thinking about adding 500mg tryptophan to the mix to see if that would round it out. But it is so expensive, and my wife-to-be will not agree with me using the cheaper veterinary source. Then I stumbled on how whey protein isolate has quite a bit of tryptophan in it, and at least one study seems to indicate enough gets into the brain that it raises serotonin levels and has other benefits! There are sources on the net that have isolated high quality whey protein for as cheap as $8 a POUND! I may give it a shot! I like going the food only route as much as I can for brain boosting, I also have a half-cup of blueberries a day =)Let me know what you all think. A lot of you on this board have done tons of research and have shared first hand experiences that have helped me greatly. Thank you all for that.
