Did well at explaining...

I am not sure I understand why the report was late. Or why things were redacted when the information is available by other means / other sources. None of that makes any sense.

Was it that they were in crisis?

How did he put it... Services have reached capacity.

That is to say... There were a bunch of measures they had (wait list times)... But they didn't want to report on those measures anymore. Because I pointed out (and I'm sure many others did, too) that in order to keep wait times down they were simply refusing to put people on wait lists. Denying treatment altogether. So reporting on wait list times was a perverse incentive. Making things worse.

He said the point of the report was... To report suicide numbers for people under the mental health act. That the mental health report's initial point was to report on people in state care. But over time it became expanded... And it lost sight of what it was supposed to be about...

Something about how 2 hours of exercise per day...

ANd you go 'yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah doctors are always at you to drink less, quit smoking, get more exercise and you'll feel better'.

But it's more about the prisons and psychiatric institutions being REQUIRED to ALLOW prisoners and in patients to exercise for up to 2 hours per day. Yard access. Activities access. F*ck*ng ping pong or whatever.

And suicide vs death of natural causes.

He didn't say it...

vs murder.

vs being bullied to death. Literally.

He says they think that suicides in state care are constant. Numbers.

As determined by a coroner.

I wonder how on the take the coroner has to be to have that job?

Yeah.

Facing up to the problem is the first step in figuring how to make things better.

This government may not have improved the measures it wanted to... But that's because it cared about the actual things of value and it seems to be genuinely trying to face up... Sometimes. Glimmers. There was no glimmers with previous government. None. Only gloat.
