p-
i have only been here a few years, but i think there are many reasons for fewer posts;
1. a person can access info by just searching and not posting
2. the format here is very dated
3. the last few months there has been quite a lot of 'drama' here. even sls is gone for a bit. i don't blame him.
4. so many other places to go. some really good actually and some not so good. let me know if you want some recs.
5. this place can be toxic and scary sometimes
6. people move oni could go on, but i won't. i read once that a restaurant has had a 'great run' if it lasts 10 to 15 years. i am curious what the equivalent in the faster pace world of the internet, what time length represents 'a good run? for a online site?
i also read recently that facebook is showing it's first wrinkles/cracks. even though their stock is doing well it is considered a baby boomer deal. and, newer social networking sites are taking mostly younger people away from almighty Facebook. imagine in your mind for a sec what will Facebook look like in 10 years? i predict a crash.
i used to love jazz before my depression hit. i was lucky to get to some very old clubs before they closed in the past 10/15 years. these clubs had been open for decades.
change is inevitable. i don't think this site will shut-down just yet, but it's just the way it is. you used to do aerobics and i used to run marathons!
anyway, i think (hoping) babble will survive. but, with a much smaller and dedicated group. nothing wrong with that.
i know this place means a lot to you and you seem to post your same concern every few months. what about staying here, but also looking for something new? you just might surprise yourself.
