Email notice of thread - but it wasn't there

I received an email notice of another posting to a thread in Administrative but when I pasted the URL into my browser it came up with
"Error: Couldn't find post 768221
Couldn't find post 768221, sorry! Please go "back" and try again."
I DID try again - several times - and received the same message. I clicked on one post and thought for a split second I could see a number at the top and thought it might be the one for which I received notification but am not sure.
Are there any changes? Is there anything I'm supposed to do? I don't see numbers listed beside the posts.
