Personal firewalls -- a technical means?

Someone asked twice that I not post to them, but I don't recall seeing the first request. My recollection is probably limited by my sketchy recall of names and of psuedonyms.

Would it be possible to link the "add name of previous poster" checkbox with the user names, so that when a person attempts to reply to someone who has asked otherwise the system can advise them of the prior request?
