If you can use an "open link in new window" (or tab) option, that will keep the new post from clobbering the posting box.

Also, have you considered just composing in Word or whatever?

Yes. Instead, use the "go back" button under the "submit your post" button.

Right, but they still don't all fit on one page, do they? So it's just a matter of scrolling a couple more times to get through them all...
