Hello Lou,

A. Hyperbole is a form of metaphor that I used to demonstrate what can happen when a harm is left unremedied. The Nazis exaggerated the notion to German citizens that Jews were sub-human among other atrocious stereotypes to desensitize the populice to the final solution - just to show how hyperbolic exaggerations can be effective.

B. I don't know how Bob thinks. That's what bothered me so, he didn't seem to be applying a consistent standard here.

C. It could have a similar effect (again, metaphorically speaking), yes indeed.
