At Stanford University, they've found that the anesthetic that's best at inducing "super dreams" is propofol. Over ten years ago, I was given propofol for surgery. I don't recall any dreams while I was under, but maybe I would have if I'd been asked about it at the time. For quite a while after my surgery, my mood was better than usual. I attributed this to the relief I felt over having my surgery behind me. But maybe my improved mood was due, at least partly, to propofol.
